ABOUT THE COURSE:
The B.Tech in Marine Engineering course is the study of the complex principles and practices involved in the running and maintenance of marine machinery which include main propulsion engines, auxiliary engines for electrical power generation, boilers, refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment, varieties of pumps and associated electrical and mechanical auxiliaries, required for the manual and automated operation of various types and sizes of inland, coastal and sea-going vessels, some of which are highly specialized and state-of-the-art. The course follows the syllabus in excess of that as prescribed by the Directorate General of Shipping covering the areas pertaining to ship construction, naval architecture, machine drawing and design of marine machineries. The essence of MRE is that it requires the application of fundamental concepts of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical, Metallurgical, Instrumentation & Automation engineering under arduous conditions prevailing at sea.

ELIGIBILITY:
- 12th standard pass with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics with at least 60% marks.
- 50% in English at the Class-10 or Class-12 final examination.
- Medical Test as approved by the List of D.G. Shipping Approved Doctors.
